Please find below our response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the steps we have taken to ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of those who work for us and with us.
Our response
Our Shaw Trust Covid-19 Crisis Response Team meets regularly ensuring we are able to implement changes to working practices swiftly and efficiently on a regional and national level to comply with the most recent guidelines and local outbreaks.
We follow advice from the World Health Organisation, our national public health bodies, local authorities and the Government.
Our sites
Prior to opening, all of our sites have undertaken a thorough risk-assessment based on their usage to minimise contamination. Each site has a dedicated person responsible for ensuring guidelines in place are adhered to. Measures put in place include: one-way systems, minimising capacity, use of hand sanitiser, reorganisation of facilities, and appointment-only visitation. Guidelines are clearly displayed throughout, and before entering, each site.
Our people
We have been in regular communication with our staff, commissioners and the people we support from the start of the outbreak, ensuring they are fully supported and know the measures we have in place as an organisation. We have set up a dedicated response team to deal with all queries efficiently and effectively, provide ongoing support for mental health and wellbeing, and have ensured our staff have the correct equipment to safely carry out their role.
Our IT
With many of our staff moving into remote working, we have tested our IT systems thoroughly to ensure they are able to work efficiently and securely, with data and system back-up and recovery procedures in place as part of our business continuity plans.
