After finishing a seasonal job at the end of 2019, Judith had been unable to find work and was forwarded to the Job Entry Targeted Support (JETS) programme for support.
With experience as a secretary as well as a teaching assistant in a specialist school, Judith used the time she was unemployed to upskill, applying for an employability course with the NHS. After a long application process, numbers were reduced from 50 to 14 applicants and Judith had been selected! It was there that Judith gained skills in customer service, clinical skills, resilience and even completed some work experience. After that, Judith submitted various applications for roles within Coventry, mainly with the NHS, but was unsuccessful.
Together with her employment advisor, Judith was given support on completing application forms and started to see more interview offers coming through. With every unsuccessful interview, came good feedback, enabling targeted points to work on whilst maintaining confidence and motivation.
Judith discovered an NHS role as a steward at a COVID-19 Vaccination Centre, secured an interview and was offered the job! Feeling anxious about getting back to work, Judith was booked onto a ‘managing back to work anxiety’ session with The Salvation Army which was invaluable. Judith felt prepared to start her role and now feels confident in moving forward.
Congratulations Judith and good luck in your new role.
