Before Christmas our retail team supported a local primary school in Bromley, the school is one of those we have worked with on an inter-generational project. The Head was concerned that many of their families were struggling financially due to Covid and wondered if we could assist. The team raided some of the retail shops and sent over a range of toys and clothes.

The head sent an email to say thank you.
“I just wanted you and your team to know how invaluable your generous gifts, delivered to Midfield in December, have been. As you know, it was not possible to distribute them before Christmas, but in light of the current Lockdown, we have been able to deliver them, together with our Food Hampers, as ‘care packages’ to many of our most vulnerable children who are in council flats with little or nothing to occupy themselves with. One example: Over the Christmas break, the Father of one of our families was taken in to ICU with COVID19 and was put onto a ventilator for several weeks. The Mother was also bedridden with the virus for several weeks and the three young children also all contracted the virus. We were able to deliver, not only food for the family, but some of the books, jigsaw puzzles and arts and craft sets kindly donated by The Shaw Trust. The children were overjoyed and it really brought a little light into their young lives and both parents were deeply grateful for the gifts.
We have also distributed some of the gifts to the classes of the Key Workers children we have in school – again greatly appreciated and enjoyed. On behalf of all of us at Midfield Primary School, please would you be kind enough to thank absolutely everyone involved in their generous donations of toys, books puzzles and many other lovely gifts.
Wishing you a positive and productive 2021!”
