Joseph, pictured above, is a Shaw Trust colleague working on one of the employability contracts: The Work and Health Programme. He took a moment to reflect on his role and has shared it with us.
“Recently I was reflecting on how far I have come/developed within my role and time so far at Shaw Trust and what the catalysts for that have been.
To that end, I realised that I am in a professional environment where I am given the opportunities/encouragement to thrive and realize my potential – and a large part of this is down to the management style.
My manager fosters a culture of positive re-enforcement and high support where needed and it is a pleasure to work alongside that type of energy as it is conducive to achieving the common objectives we are all here to work towards.
My senior leader shows through her actions she is approachable, willing to advocate and support as needed and champions values similar to my own.
The energy and style and the culture they bring to the team is very much appreciated by myself. As clichéd as it may sound – the world needs more leaders like this to continue to inspire more people like me.”
