Shaw Trust Foundation

Foundation

As a charity we add value to everything we do by investing back into the people and communities we support. The Shaw Trust Foundation gives us a visible and accountable rallying point for our charitable purpose and activity. It receives the surplus revenue generated through our contracted services and actively fundraises to support our work.

The Foundation helps us further our impact and generate social value with like-minded organisations.

Policy Institute

The Policy Institute is the advocacy engine for Shaw Trust, championing positive change for the people and communities we support, and the sectors we operate within. We advocate policy solutions to the challenges, our sector and our society faces. To do this we learn from our delivery of people centric public services, as well using our research results and advocacy to drive improvements in our service delivery.

The Policy Institute acts as both an internal think tank to support the wider Shaw Trust organisation, as well as contributing to the external public policy debate. The Institute informs the organisation of the ever-changing external landscape, disseminates essential information throughout the organisations and supports the organisation to make informed strategic choices.

Volunteering

If you share our values and want to give back to your community – we can offer you volunteering opportunities. You will gain valuable work experience, develop your skills, become more confident, all while supporting your local community. We have a wealth of opportunities from giving your time in one of our retail shops, mentoring others to help them find a job, to sharing your life experience with students at our schools.

Power 100

The Shaw Trust Power 100, is an annual publication recognising the 100 most influential disabled people in the UK. The highly regarded list is unique and since being introduced has recognised influencers including Baroness Jane Campbell, Alex Brookner, Dame Tanni Grey Thompson and Ade Adepitan.

The Shaw Trust Power 100 list is publicly nominated and judged by an expert panel with lived experience of disability. The Power 100 is one of Shaw Trust’s commitments to encourage businesses, employers and other organisations to reflect on opportunities available for disabled people. The list also plays a vital role in providing much needed encouragement to the talented leaders of tomorrow, allowing them to see that aspiration and ambition can be fulfilled regardless of disability or impairment.

Donate & gift aid

We are always in need of high quality donations and when you donate to a Shaw Trust fundraising shop, you can choose to apply Gift Aid to your donation. That means we can claim an extra 25% on the money we raise from your donation. As a thank you, we’ll give you a Shaw Trust loyalty card. This entitles you to 20% off the purchase of any donated goods every time you shop with us. You can ask in one of our charity shops for details.

Furniture collections

A free national furniture collections service.

We’re always looking for good quality furniture and electrical items to sell in our shops. Whether it’s a few things or a house full we’ll usually be able to help if you live within reach of one of our shops. If you have goods to sell in our shops and help raise funds please email: furniture.donations@shaw-trust.org.uk.

Amazon Smile

Shaw Trust has teamed up with Amazon Smile. On eligible purchases, 0.5% of what you spend is donated to Shaw Trust! You’ll still see the same products, same prices, and same shopping features but your purchases will support the communities we help. Search Amazon Smile to start shopping and donating.
