Shaw Trust is pleased to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant. At Shaw Trust we recognise the value, reservists, veterans, military families and serving personnel bring to our organisation. The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise to the nation, ensuring that those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
At Shaw Trust we employ more than 2,500 people, and by signing the covenant we are pledging to make sure anyone who has served in the forces, and their families, will not be disadvantaged when accessing services and those injured or bereaved may receive special treatment.
Our pledge also ensures support for veterans applying for roles within the company and that we will be flexible and supportive of any employee serving in the reserve forces, and spouses and partners of those being deployed.
Chris Luck CB MBE MA MPhil, CEO of Shaw Trust had a distinguished career in the armed forces prior to joining Shaw Trust said: “You don’t need to have been ex-Services yourself to know that this is the right thing to do. From experience the transition is not easy, especially if you have received life-changing injuries because of your service. I’m also very much aware that the families behind our service personnel have also made significant sacrifices in following the flag. We at Shaw Trust will meet our covenant pledge as those that have served met theirs.”
